The Sunday Times: Oxleas NHS is 'Best Place to Work' for the second time

Today, The Sunday Times has released this year’s results for its prestigious 'Best Places to Work' ranking, and we’re honoured to once again be featured in the Very Big Company category.

This nationwide workplace survey recognises and celebrates the UK’s top 500 employers across all industries with the highest employee engagement and wellbeing levels, which in turn help winners of the award attract, retain and recruit employees.

The final top-employers were selected from the results of the survey and to win, organisations must score well across the six-step framework:

  1. Reward and recognition
  2. Instilling pride
  3. Information sharing
  4. Empowerment
  5. Wellbeing
  6. Job satisfaction

Dr Ify Okocha, Chief Executive of Oxleas NHS, said: This is welcome news. To be listed for a second time as one of the best employers in the UK is a real achievement.

“I would like to thank all of my colleagues for their continued dedication and passion on our journey to create a culture that supports and respects everyone.

"Equity for all our staff and service users is a heartfelt priority for us, there is always more for us to do, but it means a lot to achieve this recognition and to know that we are on the right path.

Dr Ify Okocha, was also ranked one of the top 50 chief executives in the country (2024) by the HSJ 2024 and was also recently recognised as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) for his exceptional contribution to the field of psychiatry and communities.

Andrew George, Chair of Oxleas, thanked colleagues and said: Making Oxleas the best place to work is one of our strategic aims – it is the skill and dedication of our staff that enables us to deliver the best care we can. Being included in The Sunday Times list is a recognition of the hard work and commitment of everyone at Oxleas.

This result is also reflected in the recent national NHS Staff Survey, undertaken annually by all trusts, which ranks Oxleas as the best trust to work in London and second best in in the country in its category.
