Trio of short-listings for SLP in HSJ awards

‘Collaboration not competition’ to improve specialist mental health services across south London, involving hundreds of colleagues in Oxleas, SLaM and SWLStG, has been recognised in the most prestigious awards for the NHS.

Our three trusts’ work on many varied SLP (South London Mental Health and Community Partnership) programmes has earned three finalist positions in the annual HSJ Awards – highlighting the innovation, patient outcomes and value for highly specialist services delivered by working in partnership.

SLP entries shortlisted are:

  • Innovation in Mental Health category: Complex Care programme
  • Innovation in Mental Health category: Adult Eating Disorders (AED) Provider Collaborative's Community Enhanced Treatment Team
  • Provider Collaboration of the Year: SLP as a whole

Vanessa Ford, SLP Commissioning Hub CEO, said:

“Congratulations to everyone whose outstanding work has been recognised in these prestigious national awards. Colleagues across our three trusts have collaborated to develop and implement new clinically-led, service user informed pathways and models of care that are truly transforming patient outcomes.”

New partnership services and programmes include the 24-7 NHS 111 for Mental Health helpline; dedicated Police Advice and Guidance line for frontline officers attending mental health crises; a Perinatal Provider Collaborative (PC); new specialist Forensic, AED and Complex Care services; and a PC Service User Involvement strategy.

Vanessa added:

“This recognition highlights the power of partnerships and innovative approaches we've established across our two ICBs, 12 local authorities, other NHS and system partners, VCSE and housing providers throughout south London.”
