Our services

The Bracton Centre provides a range of specialist forensic mental health services for people aged 18-65 living in the boroughs of Bromley, Bexley, Greenwich and Lewisham. We also work with individuals from other boroughs when requested.

We provide assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services and operate the following 24-hour clinics:

Danson Clinic

Danson Clinic is an 18-bed unit within a medium secure setting. It provides a rehabilitation service to male service users with longer-term needs.

Burgess Clinic

Burgess Clinic is a 16-bed unit within a medium secure setting. It provides assessment and treatment services to male service users.

Crofton Clinic

Crofton Clinic is a 16-bed unit within a medium secure setting. It provides assessment and treatment services to male service users.

Heath Clinic

Heath Clinic is a 16-bed unit within a medium secure setting. It provides a bespoke rehabilitation service to male service users.

Service users typically come to Heath Clinic following extended admissions. They often arrive with complex formulations and a history of challenging behaviour, meaning admission to a less restrictive setting is not possible.

Joydens Unit

Joydens Unit is a 13-bed unit within a medium secure setting. It provides specialist services to female service users.

Birchwood Clinic

Birchwood is a 13-bed pre-discharge ward for male patients. Referrals come from male inpatient wards within the Bracton medium secure setting and the South London Partnership.
