Adult ADHD Referrals Triage Service

  • Our Adult ADHD Triage Service is a new NHS service designed to make it easier for adults to access an ADHD assessment.

Across South East London, more people are now seeking help for possible ADHD. Our triage service has been set up to make sure referrals are managed in a consistent way, so that everyone gets the right support at the right time.

Our service reviews referrals sent by GPs to confirm whether an ADHD assessment is appropriate and to ensure patients are directed to the right care. This helps reduce waiting times, improve access, and ensures that no one is overlooked.

Our service is run by Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, working with GPs and NHS partners across South East London.

For further information visit our frequently asked questions.

Our team

Once patients are referred by their GP, they will receive a tele-triage from one of our specialist ADHD clinical practitioners. The practitioner will consider the type and severity of symptoms, the patient’s desired outcomes for assessment and potential choice of assessment provider.

For individuals that meet criteria for full assessment, their referral will be passed on to an assessment provider to be added to their wait list for full and comprehensive assessment.

Our aims

The goal of our new service is to make sure that every adult in South East London has improved access to a first ADHD assessment — and that people get access to the right help at the right time.

The service is for those seeking first assessment only (not for patients already diagnosed with ADHD or seeking medication/treatment support).
