Barefoot Lodge is a mixed-gender, 15-bed inpatient open rehabilitation unit for people with significant mental health problems.
The unit provides a comfortable, purpose-built therapeutic environment where individuals with complex mental health receive high-quality care and support. We focus on rehabilitation, recovery and helping patients achieve greater independence.
Our philosophy of care is based on personal recovery. The principal aim is to provide assessment, intervention and rehabilitation for men and women who require intensive inpatient rehabilitation so they can maintain a meaningful life in the community.

The SLP screens referrals and the team at Barefoot Lodge is invited to join the weekly panels. The SLP and Barefoot Lodge Team then make a joint assessment within seven days of the panel date.
Barefoot Lodge has a weekly referral meeting at 9.30am on Tuesdays to discuss new referrals with the wider team. An assessment is written-up with recommendations for referral if Barefoot Lodge is not the best service to help the patient.
