Children’s Specialist Inclusion Nursing Service – Bexley and Greenwich

The Specialist Inclusion Nursing Service focuses on providing the highest standard of care to children and families in Bexley and Greenwich.
The Specialist Inclusion Nursing team supports children with:
Clinical areas:
- Phlebotomy
- Central line care
- IV therapies
- Injections
- Wound dressings
- Enteral feeding device support
- Respiratory assessments
- Epilepsy emergency care
- Diabetes care
- Stoma care
Other support areas:
- Team around the child meetings
- Child protection
- Child in need meetings
- Discharge planning meetings
- Ward rounds
- GP liaisons
- Developing care pathways
- Training & competency support
- Education baseline reviews
- Transition support
- Continence
- Continuing care checklists
We work with four special needs schools across the boroughs of Greenwich and Bexley. Our nurses oversee all the nursing support for children within those schools.
Our service covers the following schools:
Greenwich schools:
- Willow Dene – Swingate Lane (Primary) & Oakmere Road (Secondary)
- Charlton Park Academy
Bexley schools:
- Shenstone (Primary)
- Marlborough (Secondary)
Our team
Our team is made up of:
- Team manager
- Team lead
- Nurses
- Healthcare assistants
The team is constantly working to improve the quality of the care that they provide. We work with education teams, allied health professionals, local and tertiary hospitals, and other partner organisations.
Referrals
Referrals are made via the education team once children are accepted onto the school roll.

The Specialist Inclusion Nursing Service is available from 8 am - 6 pm. The team works mixed days and mixed hours.
