Market Street - Contraception and Sexual Health Service (CASH)

  • The Market Street Contraception and Sexual Health Service (CASH) provides complex contraceptive care and non-complex sexual health care to residents living in the borough of Bexley and Greenwich.

The service offers all types of contraception including:

    • Pills
    • Patches
    • Injectable contraception
    • Coils
    • Implant

If you need further information on contraception and home testing kits please read our useful information tab.

Please note: Coil appointments are timed to facilitate fitting on the same day and full instructions are sent out with the appointment.

We can diagnose non-complex sexually transmitted infections and may be able to treat them on the same day.

We cannot provide first-line treatment for non-sexually transmitted vaginal conditions such as Thrush or Bacterial Vaginosis (BV). Instead, we recommend you access over-the-counter treatments.

We also manage a community gynaecology service from Market St. These require a GP referral. If you are offered a community gynaecology appointment, it may be at one of our off-site clinics in Greenwich or Bexley.

The Greenwich Contraception & Sexual Health (CASH) is currently an appointment service. All service users are first booked a phone consultation to ensure they receive an appropriate appointment.

If you are given a face-to-face appointment please do not pass urine for 1.5 hours (90 minutes) before attending. This ensures optimal accuracy of your tests.

In some cases, a phone consultation can be followed up with a postal prescription for medication collection from our reception area.

Greenwich residents who do not have any symptoms but require routine screening should access the free, fast and confidential home testing service via www.greenwichsexualhealth.org.

Residents of other London boroughs should visit www.shl.uk.

Alternatively, a self-testing kit can be collected from our reception by prior arrangement. To organise pick-up, call 020 8301 8920 and select Option 1.
