Co-occurring Mental Health, Alcohol and Drugs (COMHAD) Service - Greenwich

  • The Greenwich Co-Occurring Mental Health, Alcohol and Drugs (COMHAD) Service provides support to people in Greenwich who are experiencing both mental health and substance misuse difficulties.

COMHAD offers direct clinical interventions to support patients and provide specialist advice to other Oxleas services.

Our aims

COMHAD aims to:

  • Promote a collaborative response to COMHAD issues.
  • Promote the key ideas that COMHAD is “everyone’s business” and that there is “no wrong door.
  • Ensure patients using substances have equal access to mental health services.

The role offers a range of support that includes both harm reduction and abstinence-focused interventions. We encourage patients to believe that they are capable of overcoming their difficulties, but also acknowledge that patients with complex needs may need direct support to do so.

COMHAD provides support to the Westminster Drug Project (WDP-Royal Borough of Greenwich’s commissioned drug and alcohol service).
