Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) - Bromley

  • The Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) provides treatment to people experiencing a mental health crisis. We do so in the service user's own home. We work seven days a week and aim to be flexible, accessible and sensitive to your individual mental health needs.

  • Reception phone number: 0800 3308590

Our aims

The team aims to:

  • Spend time with you to establish if we can support you at home during the mental health crisis. Normally, home treatment is offered as an alternative to hospital admission.
  • Work closely with the inpatient units to assess whether you can be discharged and receive CRHTT support.

When delivering care, treatment and support, we:

  • Make regular one-to-one visits to discuss problems and your overall mental health. We may also invite you to Green Parks House for a review.
  • Work closely with your family and carers. We can refer family and carers to Carers Support.
  • Help supervise your medications and answer your questions.
  • Maintain contact with your GP and other agencies involved in your care.
  • Provide you with solutions on how to manage your problems. We can also discuss how you are coping with your medication with our doctors.
  • If necessary, arrange admission or early discharge from the ward.
  • Try to support you and give you information about benefits or social issues. We can also refer you to people who can help you in other ways.
  • Work with you to plan treatment and help you cope at home. You may continue to see your original mental health team if you have one. Or we may refer you to other agencies that can help and support you. This ensures continuity of care.
  • Provide short-term intensive intervention that we review with you regularly.

Our team

We are a multidisciplinary team. This means we are a group of professionals who specialise in different areas of medicine but work together to make decisions about how to care for patients. Our team includes:

  • Consultant psychiatrist
  • Associate specialist in adult psychiatry
  • Mental health nurses
  • Support workers
  • Administrator

We try to limit the number of staff you see, although this is not always possible. Sometimes, you may see different practitioners.

With Bromley CRHTT, you can expect:

  • A professional approach. We are always respectful and courteous to you and your carers.
  • A flexible service. We provide support in appropriate environments. This is usually your own home.
  • To be involved. We aim to involve you and your carers in all stages of treatment - from assessment and care planning to discharge.
  • An individualised care plan. We try to create an individual care plan within three days of working with CRHTT. This plan considers your wishes and is tailored to your particular needs.
  • Continued support. We arrange appropriate ongoing care and treatment following your discharge from the team.

CRHTT Why is Home Treatment important?

When feeling unwell, people prefer familiar surroundings. Home treatment is less stressful for people who are already feeling mentally unwell. You may find you recover sooner, too.
