Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Service - Bexley

  • The Bexley Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Service cares for young people experiencing their first case of psychosis.

Psychosis is a term that describes experiences that affect a person’s perceptions, thoughts, mood and behaviour. Everyone’s experience of psychosis is unique but it can include:

    • Hallucinations
    • Changes in the way you think and feel
    • Frightening or unusual thoughts
    • Irritation or short temper
    • Lack of energy, motivation or concentration
    • Changes in sleep or appetite.

The team is based at the Bexleyheath Centre and covers the whole borough of Bexley.

The EIP Service is a collaboration between Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and Rethink - a mental health charity. The team can help in several ways, including offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for psychosis and working with young people’s families.
