Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Service - Bromley

  • The Bromley Early Intervention (EIP) Service cares for people experiencing their first case of psychosis. We work with people aged 18-65.

Psychosis is a term that describes experiences that affect a person’s perceptions, thoughts, mood and behaviour. Everyone’s experience of psychosis is unique but it can include:

    • Hallucinations
    • Changes in the way you think and feel
    • Frightening or unusual thoughts
    • Irritation or short temper
    • Lack of energy, motivation or concentration
    • Changes in sleep or appetite

We aim to get involved as early as possible during the critical period of the illness to provide support to service users and their families.

The team provides a range of interventions. These include:

    • Education about psychosis
    • Developing effective coping strategies
    • Providing support and advice on medication
    • Support to get back into work or education
    • Individual psychological and psychosocial interventions from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) perspective
    • Physical health and well-being support
    • Support in signposting and joint-working with agencies relating to drug and alcohol issues

  • Reception phone number: 01689 892300
