  • The Bromley Older Adults Psychology Service offers assessment and treatment for people over the age of 65 with mental health needs. This includes people living with dementia.

The team also receives referrals for adults under 65 years of age who show signs of early-onset dementia and distressing behaviour or psychotic symptoms.

We offer support to patients’ families and carers. This includes a carer assessment, if appropriate.

Our aims

We aim to help older people to live independently in the community for as long as possible.  We achieve this by providing specialist assessments and treatments, as well as commissioning social support.

When independent living is no longer possible, we continue to support people by working in partnership with provider agencies.

We actively involve service users and carers in planning and delivering mental health services. We also promote the needs of people with mental health problems and work to reduce the stigma associated with mental health care.

Our team

We are a multidisciplinary team. This means we are a group of professionals who specialise in different areas of medicine but work together to make decisions about how to care for patients. Our team includes:

  • Mental health nurses
  • Occupational therapists
  • Social workers
  • Psychiatrists
  • Psychologists
  • Support workers
  • Healthcare assistant
  • Team administrators

We work with a range of other Oxleas services to deliver care and support.
