I'm a Staff Governor representing staff members working in our Adult Community Mental Health services. I've been a Governor since 2020.
I’ve been a Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD), BSc, MSc, Queen's Nurse for over 23 years.
During this time, I've fulfilled a wide range of operational and managerial nursing roles.
I feel that I have the right skills and experience to be able to fulfil the role of a Governor.
Personally, I wanted to better understand the role of the Council of Governors within the trust.
Throughout my careers I have developed effective working relationships with key professionals across the services.
Being a Governor offers further opportunities to develop these relationships, working in partnership to embed changes and good practice.
The best thing about being a Governor, is that I’m able to influence good practice, ensuring that staff and patients are kept at the heart of what Oxleas strives towards.
I have caring responsibility for my elderly mother-in-law who lives in our family home and requires full care.
I'm an active member of St Paulinus Church and a member of the choir. I’m also a trustee for a local charity – Crossroads.
