Awards shortlist for offender healthcare recruitment

Visual for the Nursing Times Workforce Awards shortlisting for offender healthcare

We’re excited to announce that we’ve been shortlisted in the Nursing Times Workforce Awards 2026.

Workforce shortages mean competition to attract new staff remains fierce. But our original and innovative approach to recruitment and retention in offender healthcare caught the eye of the judges amongst more than 400 entries.

Shortlisted in the Best Recruitment Experience Category, our submission focused on the introduction of our Recruitment and Retention Resourcing Officers, Carly Fudgell and Clare Denny, and the work they have done with colleagues to raise awareness of offender healthcare careers.

As the largest NHS provider of offender healthcare in the country, we’ve developed induction plans and retention work to help with the challenges of recruiting to these roles.

Clare said:

We’re very proud of what we have achieved and thrilled our work has been nationally recognised in this way. Competition is fierce to recruit to healthcare roles, but even more challenging in prisons.

The annual Nursing Times Workforce Awards are designed to highlight those making a difference in key areas such as recruitment, staff retention, wellbeing and inclusion.

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 24 November in London.
