Our staff have rated Oxleas as the best NHS trust to work for in London for the second year running.

Today's National NHS Staff Survey results reveal we are top in the capital across the seven People Promise elements.

Rachel Evans, Chief People and Strategy Officer, welcomed the results:

It's great to see that our staff feel this way about working at Oxleas. We know that supporting our staff well enables them to deliver Great Care and to support our patients well. We aim to be the Best Place to Work and these results show that we've achieved this in London. But we know there is much more to do and we are committed to continuing to make improvements for staff and patients alike.

2,854 Oxleas NHS people took the time to complete last year's survey. This valuable feedback will shape the future of Oxleas and help us to deliver the best care for our patients and service users.

Our scores remain strong, with significant improvements in several areas, with many more continuing to outperform the national average, which is all down to the dedication and commitment of our workforce.

We know from previous surveys that having access to learning and development opportunities is really important to our people, so we're delighted to retain top scores in response to questions in this area. Other highlights include:

• colleagues say they feel empowered, with autonomy and feel valued
• 74% of our staff would recommend Oxleas as a place to work, above the national average of 64%
• staff recommending the care offered at Oxleas is also significantly higher than the national average
• our completion rate continues to outperform the national average.

Dr Ify Okocha, Chief Executive at Oxleas, said:

Whilst we should of course recognise the great results, as always, there is still more to do. We’ve learned about the areas we must focus more on and these will form the basis of our future plans, because we know that a workforce who feel happy and valued at work, provide the best quality care for our patients.

Despite the ongoing financial pressures and competing demands that we face, our results show that Oxleas people work together to overcome obstacles, adopt smarter ways of working and continue to put patient care at the centre of everything that we do.
