Bladder and bowel teams to host educational event
Are bladder and pelvic health issues impacting your life?
Bexley Bladder and Bowel Team and Greenwich Continence Team, together with colleagues in South East London’s Acute Provider Collaborative, will be holding a Women’s Bladder and Pelvic Health Community Education Day on Saturday 5 September at Goldie Leigh in Abbey Wood.
Two sessions are being held during which you’ll have an opportunity to ask questions, access free health checks and free wellbeing advice and support and advice in accessing services.

The event follows a recent successful educational afternoon, hosted by Bexley and Greenwich Bladder and Bowel Teams for Continence Week at the Oval Health Clinic.
It brought together healthcare professionals from both boroughs to learn, share good practice and strengthen links across services.
There were opportunities for learning, discussion and networking. Educational displays and information stands covered key aspects of bladder and bowel care, resources, products and patient support.
Attendees valued speaking with colleagues and product representatives, helping to build confidence, improve knowledge and support a more consistent approach across Bexley and Greenwich.
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees describing the event as informative, well organised and valuable for improving understanding of bladder and bowel health, treatment options and patient support.
The teams also delivered a training day for nursing home nurses in July which focused on catheter care and trial without catheter (TWOC) to strengthen knowledge, confidence and practical skills.

Filming and photography requests
We receive documentary, location and broadcast filming requests on a regular basis – we consider all proposals on an individual basis and will try to accommodate proposals where possible, if appropriate.
No photography or filming is permitted without prior arrangement and agreement. Our patients always come first and we have a duty to protect their safety and confidentiality. Anyone found filming or taking photographs on the trust premises without the permission of the trust’s communications team will be asked to leave by the security department and may face prosecution.
Unless agreed otherwise, film crews and photographers must be accompanied by a member of the Communications Team at all times.
