Connecting with our community at the Horn Park Summer Event
Local residents, community groups, voluntary organisations and services came together in a friendly and welcoming setting for the Horn Park Summer Event.
The sun shone on the August event where local residents had an opportunity to meet organisations, find out about support available in their community and discuss the issues that matter to them.
Reshma Jerin and Jake Goodrich, from the Oxleas Involve Team, and Georgie Owen, from the Horn Park Health Hub, also known as The Source, spoke with residents about mental and physical health support, community resources, volunteering and opportunities for people to use their lived experience to help shape and improve our services.
A highlight of the day was hearing directly from local people, answering their questions and connecting with residents who may not usually come into contact with NHS services. These conversations reinforced the importance of being visible in our communities, meeting people where they are and providing accessible opportunities for everyone to have their voice heard.
By working together, the Involve Team and Horn Park Health Hub were able to share information about a wider range of local services, strengthen relationships with local residents and showcase the work taking place to support our communities.

The event was both rewarding and insightful. It was a valuable opportunity to listen to local people, answer their questions and better understand the issues that matter most to them. The positive conversations throughout the day highlighted the continued importance of accessible community outreach and creating meaningful opportunities for people to have their voices heard.

- Arranging interviews with our nationally and internationally renowned experts who can talk about some of the trust’s specialist topics

Filming and photography requests
We receive documentary, location and broadcast filming requests on a regular basis – we consider all proposals on an individual basis and will try to accommodate proposals where possible, if appropriate.
No photography or filming is permitted without prior arrangement and agreement. Our patients always come first and we have a duty to protect their safety and confidentiality. Anyone found filming or taking photographs on the trust premises without the permission of the trust’s communications team will be asked to leave by the security department and may face prosecution.
Unless agreed otherwise, film crews and photographers must be accompanied by a member of the Communications Team at all times.
