New Chief Financial Officer announced

Damien O Brien Chief Finance Officer

We’re delighted to announce that Damien O’Brien has been appointed as our new Chief Financial Officer.

Damien replaces Azara Mukhtar who is off to pastures new taking on an exciting role as Group Chief Finance Officer with St George’s, Epsom and St Helier Hospital Group (gesh).

Damien, who is currently Executive Director of Finance at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, was appointed to his new role following a recruitment process involving a number of candidates.

He is a chartered accountant who has worked in the NHS for over 20 years, initially joining Royal Berkshire NHS Ambulance Trust as a finance trainee.

Damien has held senior finance roles in a number of NHS organisations, joining Guy’s and St Thomas’ in 2022 as Operational Finance Director, before spending a year as the acting Chief Finance Officer and subsequently becoming Executive Director of Finance.

Damien, whose start date is yet to be confirmed, said:

I am absolutely delighted and incredibly humbled to be appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer at Oxleas. I am looking forward to playing my part in helping to improve the lives of our patients and their families, and in continuing to make Oxleas a great place to work.
