Talking older people’s mental health at Bromley community events

Older People's Mental Health team at community events in Bromley

Colleagues from our older people’s services have been working hard to increase engagement with the local community in Bromley.

In October, the Older People’s Community Mental Health Team and Memory Services, joined forces with Involve’s older people’s team to take part in the Older Persons’ Independent Living Show at Bromley Football Club. In November, they ran a stall at the Care Information Day in Orpington.

Both free events aimed to bring together local services, advice, and support for older people in Bromley and were excellent opportunities for the teams to engage with Bromley residents, to discuss services and how to access them.

Nikki Davison, Patient and Public Involvement Officer at the Bexleyheath Centre, said:

We really valued the opportunity to network and strengthen ties with local providers like Bromley Well, Age UK, Alzheimer's Society, MyTime Active, and the London Fire Brigade, who also had stalls at these events. These connections will enhance referrals and support the health and wellbeing of those we work with.
