School Years

The School Years Team includes Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Technicians/Assistants. We work with children and young people who attend either a mainstream nursery or school, Designated Specialist Provision (DSP) or Specialist Provision to support Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH).

The Speech and Language Therapy service is typically provided from the child/young person’s education setting to enable communication support to be integrated within the curriculum. The Physiotherapy service and Occupational Therapy service is predominately provided from clinics.

All 3 services aim to create cultures and environments which enable and empower children/young people and the adults who support them. We aim to help children reach their full potential in the context of their physical, social and emotional needs whilst also promoting prevention and self-help strategies.
